Say no to river pollution

Description: "Say no to pollution of Rivers" is a campaign which originated after viewing the pathatic condition of River Yamuna while passing through the ITO bridge on Yamuna. The Yamuna water is all black due to the sewage and industrial pollution form thermal power station and industries. It resembles a narrow muddy 'nala'(drain) with filfth and garbage strewn all over and alongside its banks.

How people can help: People can participate by writing letters & emails to other people urging them not to throw waste material and garbage in the river as this threatens the very existance of the rivers and also threatens the life-forms(like fish, tortoise, crocodiles etc.) in the river. People can write to industrial units for processing their sewage before letting it flow in the river. People can also write to govt. bodies to generate public pressure for proper upkeep and cleaning of the rivers.
